Sketchbook Quilting is what Sarah Thomas, National Educator for Handi Quilter, calls her approachable, unihibited style of free-motion quilting, for which she has been commissioned by clients across the globe -- the farthest away being in Japan! In this class you will become more comfortable with drawing your own style of free-motion designs and truly have free motion fun! You'll turn these designs into multiple groupings and combinations by building off the foundation pieces Sarah will teach. In doing so, you'll create your own set of personal "go to" designs, practice fillers, and develop the muscle memory of drawing the doodles. Everyone will have the opportunity for hands-on time to practice transferring the sketchbook doodles to the quilt top. You'll also use a variety of rulers and stencils within the class to help create basic shape and line guides for doodling. If you have a favorite stencil or ruler, feel free to bring it along to class. You are also welcome to bring an unquilted top with you to collaborate on how Sketchbook Quilting would accentuate it. Each monthly session will offer you a new experience with your Brother Dream/Babylock Destiny machine. There are so many possibilities in both sewing, design center and embroidery, as well as quilting that we canít help but have fun experimenting each session. The Daphne Handbag is a quick sew and fun to make! The handbag features an exterior accent, faux piping, zipper closure, an adjustable crossbody strap, 2 interior pockets, and optional rivets. You can use metal strap connectors and a metal zipper tab if you choose not to make your own. You can make this handbag with quilter's weight cotton, vinyl, cork, or other bag materials.
